What goes around...

A funny computer story for those who have a lot of systems and parts pass through their homes...

I went looking for a used laser printer or toner cartridge. My Laserwriter 16/600 was having some printing problems, and occasionally I'll see a printer for sale for far less than the cost of a toner cartridge.

So I picked up a used HP LaserJet 4 for $30. I take it back to work and start cleaning it with the compressed air, then power it up and print a config page.

Under the network name of the printer is "Giddy Kids Laserjet". Sunuvagun...I used to own this printer! Turns out, I bought back a printer I'd sold about three years ago at half the price. Still works like a charm.

Good thing, too. The fuser assembly in the Laserwriter is now shot.

Maybe I should sell it off, then I can buy it back in a few years when I need more parts...:)
