PixelToy 2.6.1 - Unique animation generator for live performance, QuickTime, or stills

PixelToy, a Macintosh application for generating fantastic live
performance video, still images and QuickTime movies, has been updated
to version 2.6. While still operating on Mac OS 8.6 through Mac OS X
10.2.4, this version has been internally reworked for improved
stability, smoother animation, and more versatility.

What's changed since version 2.5?

* Optimized Filters - The slowest filters (Blur More, Zoom In Fast, and
Horizontal Spread) have been reworked for a dramatic speed improvement.

* Particle Brightness - You can now assign specific brightness values
to each of your particle generators.

* Timer-based Animation - Potentially much more stable animation and
less CPU-hungry on OS X, and continues to animate in many situations
where it would have paused previously. Use the "Speed Limit" setting
in Preferences to prevent PixelToy hogging your CPU.

* Audio Source Selection - In addition to selecting an audio input
device in the Preferences window, you can also select a specific audio
source from that device. You can also now activate automatic gain
control and manual hardware gain for devices that support it.

* Stability - Several situations which could result in PixelToy
unexpectedly quitting or completely locking up your Mac have been
remedied.

... Plus a wide variety of minor improvements and bug fixes.

What's changed since version 2.6? While exporting a QuickTime movie,
the animation window title now displays the current length in seconds
of the exported movie. Also, an issue has been addressed where
changing the ?gKeep Mouse Hidden?h preference sometimes would not have an
effect.

PixelToy is shareware (US $20).
